Your Engineering, Technology + Sciences program in Barcelona lasts a full semester and offers you an integrated global learning experience that connects your coursework with real-world applications. You will enroll in a combination of CIEE courses, host institution courses, and courses taught online through CIEE's global academic partner, ASU, that focus on science, technology, engineering, or math. Excursions & Activities

CIEE’s excursions and cultural activities in Barcelona will open doors for you to explore Spain’s rich diversity, language, culture, history, contemporary trends, vibrant art, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.  

Samples of past excursions and activities: 

  • Discover the MareNostrum Supercomputer, Spain’s most powerful, and learn about its updates at Barcelona Supercomputing Center 
  • Visit Synchrotron ALBA, a research facility that generates intense synchrotron light, which scientists use to study materials at the atomic and molecular level.   
  • Take a tour of the Airport of Sabadell, including the training simulators and hangars
