Program Description:
Cal Poly Global Scholars: London Scholarships

The CP Global Scholars: London Scholarship has been established in an effort to make study abroad affordable for students who would not otherwise have considered or pursued a study abroad experience. Each scholarship recipient that is selected will receive $15,000 toward the Cal Poly in London program costs for summer 2020.

The Cal Poly in London program

The Cal Poly in London study abroad program was Cal Poly’s inaugural faculty-led study abroad program that began in 1984. This flagship program has had a long-standing tradition of excellence and continues to be one of Cal Poly’s most sought after study abroad opportunities by both students and faculty. With London as one of the world’s great cultural and economic centers, the program offers courses that use the city as a laboratory to experience art, theatre, music, science, history, and more.  The six-week summer program offers students twelve Cal Poly units with three upper-division general education courses. Students take two courses offered by Cal Poly faculty. The third course, ISLA 316 London: From Roman Colony to World Capital, is taught by a British faculty member arranged through our long-time service provider, FIE: Foundation for International Education.

All students enroll in the following 12 units of Cal Poly credit: *D3 credit may be requested via substitution on a case-by-case basis. Visit drop-in study abroad peer advising (Mon-Thurs 10-11am & 2-4pm in Building 52, Room E32) to complete the substitution form.

NOTE: Pre-requisites for these courses can be waived for the Summer 2020 program with
instructor permission.
