We have a multitude of advising resources to help you navigate the study abroad process at Cal Poly, including drop-in advising hours, virtual appointments, and an interactive, group workshop! These resources are here to guide you through every step of your study abroad journey - From finding and applying to your ideal program, to learning how to get courses pre-approved and what to pack!

Study Abroad Peer Advising

The International Center Peer Advisors are here to answer all your general questions about study abroad! There are two ways students can meet with a peer advisor during our scheduled drop-in hours: 1) Scheduling a virtual appointment ahead of time or 2) stopping by the International Center (Library 3rd floor, Room 319) during drop-in hours.

PRE-ADVISING REQUIREMENT

First, please ensure that you have completed your Pre-advising Module prior to beginning drop-in advising. We also encourage you sign up for a Study Abroad 101 Workshop because many of your initial questions can be answered in both the workshop and advising module. Once you have completed this module, you will be able to meet with a Peer Advisor and/or a professional staff member.

QUARTERLY SCHEDULE

There are two ways to access our peer advising for study abroad - 1) stopping by the International Center during our scheduled in-person advising hours or 2) scheduling a virtual appointment via Zoom.

Monday - Thursday 11am - 12pm / 1pm - 3pm	Monday - Thursday 10am - 12pm / 3pm - 4pm Friday 11am - 1pm
NO REGISTRATION NEEDED	SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT
Check in at the International Center in Room 319 at the Kennedy Library for a 15-minute advising session with a peer advisor! Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the end of the drop-in hour so there is enough time to meet.	Register (up to seven days in advance) for a one-on-one 15-minute advising session over Zoom with a peer advisor. Please arrive on time for your appointment or we may have to reschedule your appointment

Advising Expectations: In order to uphold privacy obligations and ensure a truly student-centered advising experience, parents/supporters are not permitted to join these sessions. We have resources on our Parents/Supporters webpage that we encourage you share with your parent/supporter who would like to learn more about study abroad.

We will be tabling out on Dexter Lawn every Wednesday from 2pm - 4pm and Thursday 12pm - 2pm. Stop by to get your general questions answered and learn more about study abroad!
