  International Events & 
Activities Grant



The Cal Poly International Center will be awarding up to six $500 grants to support international events and activities that will take place during the 2019-20 academic year. The Cal Poly International Center Events & Activities Grant is intended to provide supplemental financial support to recognized student clubs seeking to host activities, programs, and special events that enhance the internationalization efforts at Cal Poly, SLO. Applicants must show how the event/activity will promote international engagement, enhance diversity and inclusivity, and benefit the campus community.

ELIGIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be an officially recognized club at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly) and appear in the ASI directory.
  • Event/activity must take place on the Cal Poly campus or San Luis Obispo vicinity and be open to all members of the Cal Poly community.
  • The fee to attend the event/activity must be nominal or preferably free of charge for Cal Poly students.
  • The application must be completed by a matriculated student at Cal Poly.
  • The application must be international in nature and include a budget that lists all other supporting funds.
  • The club advisor must provide a letter of support as part of the application process.
  • Receipts and a short summary of the event/activity must be submitted to CPIC no later than 10 days after the date of the event/activity.

  • January 21 – Winter/Spring grant cycle
Limit of one club proposal per deadline

GUIDELINES
  • Funds must be used for the purpose of supporting events and activities that are intended to host a broad range of Cal Poly students.
  • Funding will not be provided for retroactive events/activities.
  • Funds may not be used for travel expenses, a team competition, to purchase alcohol, to support/oppose any candidate for public office, or to support/oppose any issue before the voters, as required by California Education Code Title V, Section 42403.
  • Funding appropriation decisions will be made by a committee designated by the International Center Director that is comprised of Cal Poly faculty and staff. The committee may request additional information from the applicant.
  • Submittal of an application does not guarantee funding will be awarded.

You will also be required to upload a budget and letter of support from your Cal Poly faculty/staff club advisor.
